When South by Southwest released an official Spotify playlist of more than 800 bands to be showcased at the SXSW 2024 Music Festival, we put our earbuds in and went to work! Our goal: Identify a playlist of chill tunes perfect for creating that perfect evening vibe, exactly what you want to hear when you’re hanging out in the Heywood Hotel lobby. The Heywood Hotel team listened to more than 24 hours of music to find the best chill tunes that you’ll hear at SXSW 2024.

Who do we love?
We are super impressed with the entire SXSW 2024 lineup, featuring a diverse set of artists from around the world. A few favorites on this playlist include Enji, a German-based Mongolian singer whose music blends, jazz, folk and traditional Mongolian influences. She is playing the US for the first time. Howler Honey is a duo specializing in what they call “California Noir.”
NeONE the Wonderer, hailing from Wolverhampton, UK, with Jamaican heritage, is a lyrical rap artist whose work has been called “Jazz-grime fusion.” Joseon is a Korean-American psychedelic band from Los Angeles.
And Austin is well represented, by artists Daydream Twins (dream pop), Magna Carda (lyrical hiphop played with live instrumentals), Tameca Jones (“Queen of Austin Soul”) and Jon Muq, a singer-songwriter born in Uganda whom we’re proud to now call an Austinite.
