Kemuri Tatsu-ya — A Heywood staff favorite, Kemuri is a Japanese izakaya with an emphasis on Texas smoked meats and an equally creative cocktail menu. Choose from one of their three Omakase menus featuring individual chef-driven experiences: O-Niku (Chicken), O-Sakana (Fish), or O-Yasai (Vegetable). Pair your meal with a whiskey or Shochu. During Covid-19, all available seating is on their expansive covered back patio, making this one of Austin’s best patio restaurants.

Intero — We love our E. Cesar Chavez neighbors, farm-to-table eatery Intero! This Italian patio restaurant serves fresh, seasonally inspired fare with an emphasis on using the entire animal or plant in their creations. They have a great wine list, a dedicated gluten-free menu, as well as a wonderful little “Crave Chocolate” stand at the restaurant. (Intero is the official chocolatier of the Heywood Hotel!) Enjoy a pasta dish in their open-air courtyard seating area or front outdoor covered patio. One of the best meals in Austin awaits!
