Fall is a jam-packed season in Austin. From football games to live music to festivals covering a range of interests, there’s something for everyone this season.
If you’re planning to visit the city this fall, here is our curated list of the best fall events in Austin between September and November 2025.
September Events in Austin
Austin Restaurant Weeks, 8/29-9/14: A two-week long dining event that goes toward a good cause. Enjoy discounted prix fixe meal pricing from favorites Casa Bianca, Barley Swine, Sawyer & Co., Dai Due and dozens more — a portion of the price of each meal goes directly to the Central Texas Food Bank.
Lone Star Le Mans, 9/5-9/7: Head to Circuit of the Americas for only North American race in the official World Endurance Championship season.
Bat Fest, 9/6: An annual celebration of Austin’s Mexican free-tailed bat colony that lives beneath Congress Ave. Bridge. This year’s festival includes local food stands, family-friendly activities, and live music from Silversun Pickups, Waka Flocka Flame, RiFF RAFF, and more.
UT Football, 9/6: The home game season kicks off Saturday, September 6th against San Jose State. There are two more home games in September: September 13th against UTEP and September 20th against Sam Houston.
Pecan Street Festival, 9/13-9/14: The 50th annual Pecan Street Festival is back for its fall event, taking place at Hill Country Galleria. Local band THEBROSFRESH, who are some of the coolest guys in town (and friends of the Heywood), will be performing on Saturday!
Fantastic Fest, 9-18-9/25: Presented by Alamo Drafthouse, Fantastic Fest is the largest genre film festival in the US. Enjoy eight days of film premieres and events related to the horror, fantasy, sci-fi, and action genres.
Austin Museum Day, 9/21: Enjoy free admission to more than 30 Austin area museums, including Blanton Museum of Art, The Contemporary Austin, LBJ Presidential Library, Mexic-Arte Museum, UMLAUF Sculpture Garden, Women & Their Work, and more.
Levitation Festival, 9/25-9/28: Enjoy three days of music across two stages at Palmer Events Center and various music venues in downtown Austin. Levitation highlights top acts in psychedelic rock and also features punk, metal, electronica and more. This year’s headliners include Mastadon, Pavement, TV on the Radio, Built to Spill, Blonde Redhead, The Black Angels and more.
Austin Mediterranean Festival, 9/26-9/28: Established in 1934 as a small bake sale, Austin Mediterranean Festival has evolved into a full celebration of Mediterranean cultures and cuisines. Enjoy performances and food representing countries including Greece, Lebanon, Palestine, Ukraine, Eritrea, and more.

October Events in Austin
Austin City Limits Festival, 10/3-5, 10/10-12: Head to Zilker Park for ACL Fest, where hundreds of performances take place across nine stages. This year’s headliners include Sabrina Carpenter, Hozier, The Strokes, Doechii and Luke Combs.
Cirque du Soleil, 10/9-10/12: The global contemporary circus group is bringing its OVO show to The Moody Center for six performances this fall.
USMNT vs. Ecuador, 10/10: Austin’s Q2 Stadium will host the United States Men’s National Team’s match against Ecuador in preparation for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Austin Oktoberfest, 10/11: Hosted by the German-Texan Heritage Society, the annual Austin Oktoberfest includes live music, food, and fall activities like pumpkin painting.
Formula 1 United States Grand Prix, 10/17-10/19: One of the most thrilling sports events of the year, Formula 1 Austin is back at Circuit of the Americas. Austin Film Festival, 10/23-10/30: The can’t-miss event for film lovers, Austin Film Festival includes more than 30 feature film screenings, Q&As with writers, actors, and directors, and additional programming, including 80 short films.
Viva la Vida, 10/25: Austin’s annual Dia de los Muertos celebration, co-hosted by Mexic-Arte Museum and City of Austin, includes a grand procession, a low-rider exhibition, food and retail booths, and live performances.
Austober Fest, 10/25: Another Oktober-fest themed event, Austober Fest is hosted by Austin Saengerrunde and held at Scholz Garden. The event includes live music, a stein holding contest, sausage competition, and even bowling.
Austin Coffee Festival, 10/25-10/26: This one’s for all the coffee lovers. Head to Palmer Events Center for an immersive, one-of-a-kind coffee experience where you can sample coffee and snacks from the best specialty roasters and coffee shops in Austin and beyond.
AIA Austin Homes Tour, 10/25-10/26: AIA’s Annual Homes Tour is a self-guided tour of unique, high-end homes designed by local architecture studios.
Texas Conference for Women, 10/29: The ultimate professional development event for women, this year’s conference is taking place at The Moody Center and includes keynotes from Nicole Kidman, Jordan Chiles, Mel Robbins, and Bozoma Saint John. There will also be breakout sessions, Q&As, and 1:1 coaching opportunities.

Texas Monthly BBQ Fest, 11/1-11/2: The weekend-long festivities celebrate BBQ restaurants and pitmasters from across the state with live music, beverages, and food from more than 35 barbecue joints featured in Texas Monthly’s most recent list of Top 50 BBQ Joints.
UT vs. Vanderbilt, 11/1: Head to DKR-Texas Memorial Stadium for a daytime football game.
Quesoff, 11/2: Hosted by Mohawk, Quesoff is an annual celebration of all things queso (Austinites’ unofficial favorite side dish). Restaurants, chefs, and home chefs compete in four categories: Meaty, Spicy, Veggie, and Wild Card.
Austin Food & Wine Festival, 11/7-11/9: At the annual Food & Wine Festival, festival-goers can sample unique bites and premier spirits, wines, and beers as well as watch chef demos from some of the nation’s top tastemakers.
Texas Book Festival, 11/8-11/9: A free literary festival that celebrates Texas authors and books. From author panels to book signings, even chef demos and food trucks, the event is a fun way to connect with the reading community.
Texas Craft Brewer’s Festival, 11/15: The state’s largest annual celebration of small and independent Texas craft breweries takes place at Fiesta Gardens, less than a mile from the Heywood Hotel! Enjoy our free parking and stroll over to the festival for an afternoon of supporting and tasting from breweries all over Texas.
UT vs. Arkansas, 11/22: One of the final home games for the regular season of UT football.
UT vs. A&M, 11/28: Don’t miss the annual showdown between UT and A&M! The traditional rivalry game returned last year, and this year’s game marks the first time it’s being played in Austin since 2011.
